Conference Host, Author & Lead Pastor
City First Church
Jen DeWeerdt serves with her husband, Jeremy, as the Senior Leaders of City First Church, a growing, multi-generational, multi-cultural church in Rockford, IL. She is honored to play a key role in the very church she grew up in. As pastor, communicator, author, and founder of the Original Women's Conference, Jen is passionate about encouraging and empowering women to step into their God-given callings, regardless of their profession. Thousands of women have discovered their destiny and design through these powerful conferences. Jen and Jeremy have been married since 1995 and have three sons: Caden, Connor, and Paxton. When she is not cheering on her boys, you will find her enthusiastically rooting for her Chicago sports teams (White Sox not included).
Robert is passionately in love with Jesus. For thirteen years he has crisscrossed the globe, preaching the gospel and taking every opportunity to tell people about the love of Jesus Christ. He is a family man, husband to Taylor Madu, and father to Everly Adair Madu, Robert Nnaji Madu III, and Remington Elaine Madu. Robert presents the gospel in such a unique way that you’re leaning in, holding onto every word that is spoken, as he paints the beauty of the transforming, powerful, life giving Word of God. Robert is compelled to make aware to every individual that God is for them and that He has a specific plan and purpose for every life. In addition to his itinerate ministry he serves on the teaching team at Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, TX, a church that he has called home since the age of three.
Born in the natural state, Arkansas, 10 years ago, I packed up everything I owned, moved to Texas, and never looked back. Life is fun. My husband, Robert, has my heart. He was the perfect gift from God. I am not only a wife, but a full time Momma to my 2 precious angels, Everly Adair Madu, age 2, and Robert Nnaji Madu III, 9 months old. They both have exceeded every expectation. I am beyond in love. My family means the world to me. They are who I can run to in the hardest times of my life. I can confide in and trust… I can let my guard down and be Taylor.. what a comfort.
My goal in life is to simply, love the Lord God with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength…and to love my neighbor as myself. It sums up who I am as a person. I love people, I am intrigued by personal stories. I want to be friends with anyone and everyone, because every person has something special and unique to offer this world. I believe the stories of our lives were never meant to be kept a secret. I love traveling and telling the world about Jesus Christ, the one who saved my soul. Fashion is a hobby. Its a creative way to express myself as a person! My goal in life is to change the world… whether a platform of thousands, or the ONE that I meet at Starbucks. I desire for people to know that they matter, and are not defined by their mistakes or failures. There is hope… there is life… and there is a beautiful destiny ahead. You matter. I am so happy that you have decided to follow my blog and have taken the opportunity to get to know me. I pray that you are encouraged and uplifted and find yourself smiling as you read through the details of my heart.
