Courage To Be Content

Whether it be a pandemic, personal struggles, relational difficulties, or financial struggles,  contentment is available to us. We can learn from the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4 as he found contentment in less than ideal circumstances. Paul gave thanks in ALL circumstances. Thankfulness and contentment walk hand in hand. Contentment is a matter of FOCUS. Yes, contentment does take courage as we are surrendering and trusting God!

Discussion Questions

  1. What are we concentrating on, what we see (circumstances) or the unseen?
“So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT
  2. What “IF” have you been basing your contentment on?
  3. What are you thankful for? Take a moment to share what you are thankful for, even in your particular situation that seems difficult.
